This year's Performance Summer Laboratory will run from August 22nd to September 20th, 2024, spanning across Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, and Hesse, Germany, with a short break in between.

It's a cultural exchange initiative centered around performance research and exploration, occurring annually during the summer. The program welcomes young artists from Germany and France in the field of dance, performance, theater, music and the like. Young professionals, performing arts students as well as experienced individuals from other backgrounds with dedicated interest can apply.

The project covers the costs of participation, including accommodation, meals and workshops throughout the entire project duration, except for a registration fee of 200 Euros, should the application become successful. Travel expenses up to 190 Euros per person will also be reimbursed. The seats are limited to ten participants.

The project is for those who look for an intensive time of developing oneself in the field of dance/improvisation/performance/cultural education. The project entails 25 days of residency/rehearsal as a constant group in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (France) and in Hesse (Germany), including public performance presentations.

Performance Summer Laboratory is organised by interdisciplinary theater initiative T-LAP (Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany) and its French cooperation partner Compagnie Bela & Côme (Belhade, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France). The project is part of the partnership program between Hesse and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, supported by Hessische Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst, Pôle Europe et International of Nouvelle Aquitaine, Das Deutsch-Französische Jugendwerk and Frankfurts Kulturamt, among others.

Schedule: August 22nd evening to 31st morning in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, and September 4th evening to 20th morning in Hesse, Germany. The dates include travel days. We welcome only those who would take part through the entire project period.
